Hike-Lite is owned and run by Paul Davis. I started Hike-Lite when I was planning to do the West Coast Trail on Vancouver Island and decided to use lightweight gear. When I realised how hard it was to track down I decided to start a business only selling lightweight gear.

Back then in 2004 we were the only UK outdoor retailer dedicated to lighweight gear. As the concept has become more mainstream a number of other retailers have followed in our tracks but we can still be proud that we were first !

I am happy to give advice on gear selection either by email or telephone. If you call when I am not here and one of my staff cannot help then leave a message and I will happily call you back for a chat.

Over the years I have softened my views on lightweight gear and am now as concerned with comfort as sheer low weight. So I am inclined to accept a few extra grams if the additional comfort justifies it.

I have done the Kimm/OMM in 2005 and 2006 which has provided me with practical experience of what works when weight is critical. In addition to various hiking trips I also run, sea kayak and climb.
